China has made history again as a humanoid robot sets a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey across several provinces.
The Agibot A2 ran 106.286 km non-stop from Suzhou to Shanghai, without switching off during the trek.
The longest journey by a humanoid robot started on November 10 from Jinji Lake in Suzhou in East China’s Jiangsu province and ended at the Shanghai Bund on November 13.
The Agibot A2 robot becomes the first humanoid to achieve this Guinness World title thanks to its long-standing functional hot-swappable battery system that prevents it from shutting down.
According to Wang Chuang, senior vice president of Agibot, “Walking from Suzhou to Shanghai is a tough task even for many people, but the robot has done it.”
“It proves the maturity of the robot’s hardware, balance algorithms and cerebellar endurance, laying a solid foundation for large-scale commercial deployment,” Wang added.
The robot is equipped with LiDAR, GPS modules and deep sensors, allowing the A2 to navigate complicated scenarios including narrow paths, busy sidewalks and changing traffic lights.
The 1.80 meter tall Agibot A2 weighs approximately 55 kg and can easily process audio, text and visual information based on AI-powered capabilities.
