Chris Hemsworth has reflected on the passion that first set him on the path to Hollywood stardom.
In a recent appearance on On purpose with Jay Shettythe Thor actor shared how his love for acting started at a young age, and how quickly it grew into an all-consuming goal.
“Once I settled on the idea that I was going to be an actor, it was an absolute obsession,” Hemsworth said during the podcast.
Now the 42-year-old Australian star has become one of the most recognizable and highest-paid actors in the world.
However, he admitted that as a child he had little understanding of how challenging that journey would actually be.
Acting, he explained, became both a form of escape and a dream.
“There was no doubt that I was going to do that,” he said, reflecting on his thinking at the time.
“There was a naivete about the reality of how difficult that was going to be.”
Despite the obstacles, Hemsworth recognized that his ambition during his early years served a deeper purpose.
“But I think it was a kind of escapism,” he added, noting how the dream gave him focus and direction long before fame became a reality.
