Boy George admitted that he often uses AI to help him write music.
During an appearance on the latest episode of Fearne Cotton’s Happy place podcast, the 64-year-old singer revealed that he has “already written five albums” with the help of artificial intelligence.
“I’ve already written five albums with AI… AI is brilliant. Nothing to be afraid of,” said George. “I tell everyone, if you’re replaced by a robot, you didn’t try hard enough… Obviously I think it’s important that people lose their jobs… But there are so many great things.”
The Culture Club crooner added that he loves that AI allows him to work independently.
“I have great conversations with ChatGPT and I say, ‘Oh that [lyric is] nonsense, that’s not what I would say,” George said.
“You can train it. And my manager said last night, ‘You know you’re talking to someone in China.’ I thought, I don’t care. I said: it doesn’t matter… An artist like me tries to make you work the old-fashioned way. I’m ahead of them,” he added Karma chameleon singer.
For those unfamiliar, George has been on tour with Culture Club since February.
