Dani Dyer has opened up about her painful miscarriage before becoming pregnant with her son Santi.
The Love Island star, 29, who shot to fame in 2018 with then-boyfriend Jack Fincham, spoke about his miscarriage on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast.
After winning the ITV show and later split from Jack, Dani has rekindled her relationship with Sammy Kimmence, who she had dated before appearing on Love Island.
For context, Dani welcomed son Santiago, now four, in January 2021 and split from Sammy in July that year after being sentenced to three years in prison for a £34,000 scam.
Dani revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage before having Santi, saying: ‘I got pregnant right before Santi, and then it didn’t work out. Since it didn’t work out, I wanted a baby, so I wasn’t careful.
“It was like having a baby, and my mom and dad were furious at that moment. So I was nervous to tell my mom, and they were happy with me for the baby because they knew what I wanted.
“So that’s why they were happy for me, but they knew that relationship would never work. I have said sorry to them so many times for what I did to them. And I now understand what they said.
‘Yes, it was a miscarriage, but it was very early. When I got pregnant again I had so many scans, I was there the whole time.’
Speaking about Santi’s father, she added: ‘The one boyfriend who was just hell. For Love Island, he never wanted to settle down with me. He was a huge player.
‘I don’t regret anything. Having Santi changed me as a person, so I’m so glad I had my Sant. I think I had to go through a difficult relationship to have my son and change me as a person to get where I am today.”
Dani has been in a relationship with Jarrod Bowen since 2021 and together they share twin daughters, Summer and Star.
