David Schwimmer has criticized Kanye West, describing the rapper as “one of the most recognizable hate-mongering bigots in the world.”
The 59-year-old actor shared a lengthy statement on Instagram on Monday, praising Pepsi and Diageo for withdrawing their Wireless Festival sponsorship after Ye was announced as the headliner for the three-day event.
“It’s great to see companies have moral clarity,” David wrote. “Unlike Wireless and Festival Republic, they decided not to stage an artist who went on to become one of the most recognizable hate-mongering bigots in the world.”
The Goosebumps actor further wrote, “For years, Ye used his considerable celebrity to promote hatred and violence against Jews, spreading anti-Semitic lies and stereotypes to his 33 million followers — more than double the number of Jewish people alive today.”
“For years, Ye has used his considerable fame to promote hatred and violence against Jews, spreading anti-Semitic lies and stereotypes among his 33 million followers – more than twice the number of Jewish people alive today,” he continued.
The Friends alum argued that Ye’s “words are actions that have caused incalculable, irreparable damage in recent years,” blaming him for stoking “global hatred” and inspiring “violence against Jews everywhere.”
For those unfamiliar, Ye has been booked to perform at the Wireless Festival 2026, held in London’s Finsbury Park from July 10 to 12.
