Dax Shepard breaks silence on viral Kristen Bell anniversary post

Dax Shepard breaks silence on Kristen Bell’s viral anniversary post

Dax Shepherd was unaware of Kristen Bell’s viral Instagram post for days.

During a recent chat on ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,’ the 51-year-old actor sat down with his guest Nikki Glaser and discussed how his wife’s social media post quoting one of his lines was met with backlash from fans.

The topic arose when Nikki told Dax she wanted to include his quote during the presentation of the Golden Globes in January, but dropped the idea because it was “old news by then,” and she “didn’t want to make his life harder.”

Dax curiously asked if he could hear the punchline that never aired.

Nikki shared, “That My Love. If I had legs I’d kick you. Sorry, honey. These aren’t just captions for Dax Shepard’s Instagram post for Mother’s Day or for Christmas, or captions for his anniversary post. These are the films nominated tonight.”

Dax laughed in response.

Kristen posted a note about their anniversary in October, writing: “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who, after an episode of Dateline, once said to me, ‘I would never kill you. Many men have killed their wives at some point. Even though I have been heavily incentivized to kill you, I would never do that.'”

The caption drew mixed reactions online.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Dax shared that he had “no idea” about the issue until he was contacted by someone after it had been uploaded for “a week and a half.”

“Well, I was warned by someone that this was all happening. I didn’t know. And Kristen knew through her publicist, but didn’t tell me. So I actually didn’t know, and this was brought to my attention,” he told Nikki.
