Demi Lovato has insisted it wasn’t her idea to sing her hit song Heart attack at a previous event for a heartfelt charity.
In 2024, the singer-actress went viral after performing her 2013 single for guests at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection gala.
But during her last interview for The Elvis Duran ShowDemi explained that the event organizers insisted she sing the song.
“They asked me to sing that,” she said. “I pointed it out in advance and thought, ‘Isn’t this the atmosphere?’ They said, ‘No, they want to hear it.’ I was like, ‘Okay?'”
Despite organizers assuring Demi that this was what the audience wanted, the song choice was not well received online.
“And then of course people online say, ‘Why did she sing that?'” the 33-year-old recalled, stating, “Y’all, it wasn’t me! I flagged it!”
When she performed at the charity event and introduced her song, Demi told the audience that the song evoked several feelings in her
