Dick Van Dyke speaks highly of the late Walt Disney: ‘I loved him’

Dick Van Dyke recently opened up and revealed that he may have been the last person to know the real Walt Disney.

The 99-year-old American actor and comedian recently hosted a Vandy High Tea charity event in his hometown in California. The event also featured a two-hour question and answer session, sing-along performances from Dyke with special guests and a meaningful reflection on his long-standing career.

As he reminisces about his relationships with various celebrities, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang actor opened up about his bond with the famous producer.

Reflecting on his connection with the late American animated film producer and voice actor Disney, Dyke said: “I got to know Walt, I’m probably the last living person to do that. I got to know Walt pretty well, and we got along really well.”

“We decided that emotionally we were both 13 years old and that’s why we like doing children’s entertainment,” he said.

“He was a big boy, so full of enthusiasm, and I just loved him,” says the Night at the Museum star unveiled, singing the praises of Disney, pioneer of the American animation industry.

It is pertinent to mention that Chris Isaacson Presents produced the Vandy High Tea charity event to raise funds, The Van Dyke Endowment of the Arts and the Dick Van Dyke Museum, which is currently in the development stages.
