‘Didn’t sign up for that’

Amanda Seyfried shares hilarious reaction to discovery of second job at ‘Housemaid’: ‘I didn’t sign up for that’

Amanda Seyfried didn’t know she had a second job on set The maid.

The 40-year-old actress, who co-starred with Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar in the psychological thriller, didn’t know she was also the film’s executive producer until three weeks later.

During a conversation The Graham Norton Show, Amanda revealed, “I’m a producer on it,” and “I didn’t know until three weeks later.”

“I saw the call sheet and thought, ‘Executive producer, that’s not what I signed up for,’” she recalls.

After confirming her major role in the film with another producer, Amanda’s response, she revealed, was, “This (film) better be a hit.”

Even though she was the executive producer, Amanda didn’t work much on the production side.

The Mean girl alum explained, “It was one of those vanity credits because I didn’t put any effort into making that movie. I was just in it. That’s the problem with vanity credits. I just jumped in, had a lot of fun and left. And now it’s like they’re sending me on vacation. It’s cool.”

One of the reasons Amanda wanted to be in the film was to work under the direction of Paul Feig. “I wanted that movie because I wanted Paul Feig. I wanted to go crazy and it was just surprising and amazing,” she added.

The maid was released in theaters on December 19, 2025.
