DUBAI: Dubai Police has deployed artificial intelligence (AI) sound radars across the city to detect and monitor vehicles that generate excessive noise.
According to Dubai Police, the new radars will detect loud horns, modified exhaust systems to improve vehicle noise and loud music played in cars.
Drivers violating the noise limits will be fined AED 2,000 – about Rs 150,000 – along with 12 black points, police said.
Black points are penalty points for traffic violations in the UAE. Drivers who collect 24 black points will be suspended under traffic rules.
Authorities urged motorists not to disturb public peace and drive responsibly, warning that action will be taken against anyone causing unnecessary noise.
