Emiru gets assaulted at TwitchCon meet and greet, social media erupts in anger

Emiru calls out Twitch for its poor security arrangement

Emiru, a popular American YouTuber, recently experienced a heartbreaking incident while attending a meet and greet session at TwitchCon.

The three-day convention took place in San Diego and on the first day the popular cosplayer was attacked during the event.

On Friday, a video of a man walking straight up to Emiru and trying to grab her for a kiss went viral. The video showed the streamer trying to push the man away.

Only her personal security staff stepped forward to protect her, while the TwitchCon security staff stood still and didn’t move a step to help her.

Emiru released an official statement through X, criticizing Twitch for the way they handled the situation.

In her statement, she said the man “was allowed to cross multiple barriers at TwitchCon and even had a meet and greet in front of another creator to grab me and my face and try to kiss me.”

However, organizers also responded to her by saying they had immediately denied the person access to the event.

The incident caused a firestorm on social media with fans saying Twitch should apologize to Emiru for the heinous act.

One wrote: “Damn, Twitch needs to apologize and get your good guard back. I hope you’re doing well.”

Meanwhile, some are expressing concern that such a platform should be sued for its lack of security.

“Please sue Twitch for lack of security or stop their streaming service, stay safe out there.”

Another social media user commented: “Justice for @emiru.jpg no one deserves to be attacked twitchcon and security failed and shame on the man who stood next to her and saw it happen.”
