Emma Stone reveals why she is still not on social media

Emma Stone explains why she avoids social media

Emma Stone continues to avoid using social media due to concerns about her mental health.

Stone only recently got the domain in her own name, which she’s seen doing in her new Super Bowl ad for Squarespace.

When asked if she wanted to turn her domain into a lifestyle blog or something, she responded Rolling stone, “One hundred percent no. That’s why I don’t even have Instagram. I’m too scared for my own mental health to concern myself in that way, and that’s why I’m such a lurker and like to follow other people’s stuff.”

“Don’t know [why] I never actually did that,” she said about not purchasing her domain sooner.

“Squarespace kind of had to do with my lack of foresight. So I’m very grateful that they did that, otherwise the commercial really wouldn’t have worked. It would have been weird if you went to EmmaStone.com and it was… I don’t even know what could be going on there,” the two-time Oscar winner added.

The Easy A actress then revealed her love for “building prototypical sites” with legacy web services like Angelfire and GeoCities when she was growing up.

“I really enjoyed that. I made a presentation in front of the class when I was in elementary school and I remember having to take people to the library to see my presentation,” she said.

“I was really proud of my drop-down menus, and all the things you could actually do on Angelfire. So I was really interested in that. I also remember the LiveJournal days and I was a blog reader for so long. It was my favorite thing to do, and so now I’m really one of the Substack freaks. I spend a lot of money on Substack.”

Emma Stone has been nominated again for the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Bugonia.
