Emma Watson is open about the challenges she came across as an actor afterwards Harry Potter.
The actress, who grew up on the beloved franchise, thought about how her early years on the set was her expectations of the film industry and left her unprepared for the reality of working outside that world.
Speaking with Jay Shetty on the episode of September of him Deliberate Podcast, Watson, explained: “It is so unusual to make a number of films for 12 years. We were a community, we were real. So I took that as an expectation in my other workplaces, and I got my butt. I really did that.”
The 35-year-old shared that the strong friendships she built with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and others made her believe that each set would bring the same kind of lifelong tires.
That was not the case and the disappointment cut deep.
“That was a very painful experience for me outside Harry Potter And in Hollywood, such as boneing painful, “she admitted and noticed that many people in the industry were not on a set of steps that are looking for friendships.
Watson became emotional when she described the toll of navigating more competitive environments.
“It broke me, but in a sense I am proud that it did,” she said through tears. “I think that means I have something left to break. I have a heart left to break.”
Despite the hardships, she acknowledged that the experience gave her perspective on what is most important.
“There is something that I am proud of in a way, that there were certain things that I couldn’t resist,” Watson thought. “I would rather keep my humanity.”
Her comments emphasize the contrast between growing up in a close franchise and later confronted with the murderous pace of Hollywood.
Although she last appeared on the screen in 2019 Little WomenHer words show the lasting impact of her journey from children’s star to an adult actor, one that continues to form her career choices and her self -feeling.
