A swarm insects forced an unexpected stop on Sunday during the Pakistan -India ICC World match for women’s cricket in Colombo in Colombo, allowing Captain Fatima Sana and her teammates to use insect -resistant sprays on the field before the game could resume before the game.
The sudden attack by small bugs on Sunday visibly caused discomfort for the players. The Pakistani Bowler Nashra Sandhu initially tried to ward off with a towel after consulting the referee, but the problem continued to exist.
As the infection deteriorated, the reserve players of Pakistan ran onto the field with insect -resistant sprays.
Captain Fatima Sana started spraying around her teammates, while replacement Iman Fatima even sprayed the cap of a colleague player – although the insects refused to spread.
Moments later the game had to be stopped. Ground staff sprayed the entire field before the game was finally resumed.
Pakistan won the Worp and chose to first bowle India in the R Premadasa Stadium.
