George Clooney gives fans a rare look in the life of his family in France, far from the brilliance of Hollywood.
In a new conversation with EsquireThe 64-year-old Jay Kelly-star shared that he feels “very happy” to lift his twins, Alexander and Ella, alongside wife Amal Clooney on their farm in the French countryside.
For Clooney, who grew up on a farm himself, the setting now feels like the perfect place for his children to thrive.
“You know, we live on a farm in France. A large part of my life was growing up on a farm, and as a child I hated the whole idea,” he explained.
“But now, for them, they are not on their iPads, do you know? They eat with adults and have to take their dishes with them. They have a much better life.”
The actor admitted that he was once worried about raising his children in Los Angeles, where the pressure of fame and the Hollywood -lifestyle could overshadow their childhood.
“I was worried about raising our children in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt that they would never get an honest shake in life,” Clooney said.
“France-they don’t give a bit of s — about fame. I don’t want them to walk around, worry about paparazzi. I don’t want them to be compared to someone else’s famous children.”
The interview has also recorded a light family moment at the lunch table.
Clooney proudly served lemon paste and chicken with fresh tomatoes from their garden, while Amal, 47, joked that the ‘Happiness’ family had that she had not cooked anything of it.
Laughing George turned to his twins and asked what happens when their mother does it. Without missing a beat, Alexander and Ella answered together: “We all die!”
Although the couple welcomed their twins in June 2017 and usually keeps their private life from the neighborhood of public interest, Clooney never shaken to express how much joy his children bring him.
