Gilmore girls star Arielle Kebbel reflected on fans’ distaste for her character Lindsay.
More than two decades after the show first aired, Kebbel spoke about the surprising shift in fan opinion surrounding her character.
Speak with StylecasterKebbel admitted that she always understood why viewers initially hated Lindsay, who dated and later married Dean Forester, played by Jared Padalecki.
She said, “I love her so much. She took me to… I mean, she was my first acting job ever in LA.”
Adding, “And I also understood why fans hated her in the beginning, so I never – I was all good about it.”
For those who didn’t know, Arielle Kebbel joined Gilmore girls as Dean’s love interest in 2003. However, fans hoping to see Dean and Rory together were unhappy.
However, she said the way things have now come full circle is the “most pleasant surprise” since she was king of “peace with the whole thing”.
Kebbel said, “I’m flattered. I mean, this whole Justice for Lindsay thing, it warms my heart and brings me so much joy because wherever Lindsay is, it makes me smile and wink at her. I’m like, see? People are seeing you now, girl. Good for you.”
It is relevant to mention that Gilmore girls ran from October 2000 to May 2007.
