Heidi Klum eyes spooky season anthem with Diplo after being dubbed ‘Queen of Halloween’

Heidi Klum appears to have found a collaborator in Diplo to extend her Halloween legacy into music.

Known for her flashy October costumes and annual “Heidiween” celebrations in New York City, Klum recently said she was surprised she hasn’t released a Halloween-themed song yet.

The model previously dabbled in seasonal music with her Christmas single Wonderland and recently collaborated with Diplo Red eyeswhich serves as the theme for Germany’s Next Top Model.

The conversation surrounding a spooky seasonal song took place during a recent interview, in which Klum and Diplo discussed the idea of creating a Halloween anthem together, with both agreeing that there was a clear gap in the market.

“Ooh look, maybe this is our new thing that we have to work on together,” Klum recently told Diplo in an interview with People.

Diplo pointed to The Cramps’ cult classic Goo Goo Muck from 1981 as a source of inspiration.

“I just love that era of music. A bit crazy, but it’s a… Addams family kind of thing. It is a timeless record. I really like that kind of garage-style Halloween.”

Klum agreed, adding, “Maybe this should be our new goal because this is definitely a gap in the market.”

“I could definitely make one for you,” Diplo replied before joking about landing a placement on shows like Wednesday or Stranger things could make the song go viral.

‘I think we should just take it Wednesday TV show to set it up, and then we’re done. Or Stranger things. I think that’s over, but we just need it in a TV show and it will be great.”

The DJ, who is also part of Major Lazer, also suggested Klum explore unexpected collaborations, including with rappers such as NBA YoungBoy or Kodak Black.

Klum previously talked about the possibility of making a Halloween anthem in 2024. “I’ve always wanted to have a TV show once a year where people can show me their designs, kind of like a Halloween design special,” she told the same magazine at the time.

“Maybe one day that will happen, because it kind of goes together with fashion, my creativity and things that I like to do. But to make a Halloween song, I haven’t thought of that yet. That’s a very good idea. I love that idea.”
