Prior to the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup final in Dubai today, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson praised the determination of his team and never-a-give-up attitude while they are preparing to meet arch-rival India.
The current eight-team tournament will be closed for the first time in 41 years with a historic final, with Asian giant-Pakistan and India-.
Pakistan and India have locked Hoorns twice in the Asia Cup 2025, with the men in blue -rising victor on both occasions.
However, the green shirts will seek revenge for two defeats against India in the group and super four phases of the eight-team tournament and their coach, Hesson, proudly expressed the spirit of the team in the run-up and during the Asia Cup 2025, while recognizing that they have not been perfect.
“Proud of the mind that this team shown in the run -up and during the Asia Cup. We may not have been perfect, but I can assure you that we never give up,” Hesson wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The head coach also shared his expectation for the first Pakistan-India Asia Cup final in 41 years, in the hope that it became a “cracker”.
“It is 41 years ago for a Pakistan against India Asia Cup final. Tonight’s game should be a cracker,” he said in another post.
For the Unververdeded, Hesson, who took over the head coach of Pakistan in May of this year, enjoyed a decent run insofar as the team won 14 out of 20 games under his coaching official period, including victories on the bilateral Series on Bangladesh and West India and the Tri-Nation-Tri-Tri-Triumph.
Pakistan only lost one series under Hesson, a 2-1 defeat against Bangladesh in July.
