Hilary Duff shares her sadness about the consequences of Haylie Duff

Hilary Duff is heartbroken over her strained relationship with sister Haylie Duff.

“It’s definitely the loneliest part of my existence, not having my sister in my life right now,” Hilary, 38, said through tears. CBS mornings interview broadcast on Friday, February 20.

“[I] I really struggled with putting that on the record,” she said of her song We don’t talk from her new album Luck…or something like that.

“As a person who exists in the world without my significant other, so many people have that experience,” she said.

“A lot of conversations I have with people are like, ‘Yeah, me too,'” she added.

Ultimately, the Stranger singer added the song because it is her “truth”.

“It’s my truth, and like I said, so many people have this experience,” she said. “It’s hard because I’m me, and people know everything about my life since I was a kid. I didn’t necessarily choose that part, but it’s my reality. It was honestly healing to say.”

“It’s hard to watch your life unfold on the internet, sometimes with talking heads on TikTok speculating this, that and the other. Sometimes they’re wrong and sometimes they’re right. It’s all just crazy to process,” she added.

The actress and singer has found a way to cope because she understands that people on social media do what they can to make a living.

“It would be impossible to say that it doesn’t piss me off or hurt me sometimes, but I also understand that it’s a job that was created and now that there isn’t much work left, people have to do it,” she said.
