Holly Ramsay’s fiancée Adam Peaty reflects on his darkest days

Olympian considers his renewed Christian faith as the force that pulled him through his darkest period

Adam Peaty has revealed he hit rock bottom in May 2022, describing how a broken foot became the turning point that sent him into a dark ‘down special’.

Following his double gold medal win at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the British swimmer admitted he endured “three years of hell” as he struggled with depression, alcohol addiction and the emotional toll of separating the mother from his child.

After stepping away from competitive swimming to focus on his mental health, the Olympian credits his newfound Christian faith as the force that pulled him through his darkest period.

Adam, who at the time began dating his now fiancée Holly Ramsay, openly shared, “I’d rather have my faith and my relationship with Jesus come second to gold.”

Holly was photographed on Thursday for the first time since her reported feud with Adam’s family came to light, holding a phone case emblazoned with the word “Bride.”

The appearance followed claims from Adam’s relatives that they were excluded from the couple’s wedding guest list because they were “just people on benefits” who did not fit Ramsay’s class and style.

Family members have since accused the Olympic champion of abandoning his Christian values by cutting them out of the festivities.

They also claimed that Adam disapproved of his mother’s outfit choices for the wedding, and allegedly sent her alternative options to wear.
