Hugh Jackman praises Kate Hudson’s acting qualities: ‘She is a perfect actor’

Hugh Jackman has nothing but praise for him Song sung blue co-star Kate Hudson!

The 57-year-old actor praised Kate’s acting skills while accepting the inaugural Musical Tribute at the 2025 Gotham Awards in New York City.

Hugh, who stars in the upcoming US biographical musical drama opposite Kate, said he believes she will win her first Oscar for the film.

“Kate Hudson is not only one of the great stars of our company, she is a consummate actor,” said the Deadpool and Wolverine actor.

“I believe she will get an Oscar this time,” he added. “There is a difference, a very important difference, I can tell you, between Kate Hudson in Almost Famous, just three years ago, and Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue,” he added.

Song sung blue will be released in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.

Recently in an interview with People magazine, Hugh shared his work experience with Kate.

“I learned a lot from Kate. I actually learned about acting on film,” he said. “I’ve made almost fifty films, but somehow working with Kate is very difficult to describe, but the combination of being prepared and just being instinctive is a very fine line and no one does it better than Kate Hudson.”

“Being with her has taught me and I think made me a better actor,” Hugh added.

It is pertinent to mention that Kate was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2001 Academy Awards for her role in Almost famous.
