Idris Elba is “honored” by his Madame Tussauds wax museum.
The award-winning actor is the latest star to have the red carpet rolled out for him at London’s Wax Museum.
And from Friday, he joined a stellar, star-studded array of wax figures, including actress Gillian Anderson, actor Timothee Chalamet and pop stars Lady Gaga and Harry Styles, in the Baker Street attraction’s Awards Party area.
Idris said: “It’s truly an honor to be recognized in this way and even more special to know that this other version of me will continue to stand tall in London. So even when I’m away, a part of me is always home.”
The Hijack The legend’s waxwork – which took Madame Tussauds London’s expert artists a few years to create – features a long-sleeved version of the monochrome blue Eve of Winston suit.
It was designed by Idris for the meeting with King Charles during an event on tackling violent crime among young people in July 2024.
He added: “The process was fascinating. It’s not unlike preparing for a film role: working with talented artists to shape the character and get the costume just right, but this time it’s for me!”
“It’s really surreal to see another version of me standing in Madame Tussauds London. It feels like a full circle moment,” concluded Idris Elba.
