India is calling on new controversy while his cricket board announced plans to bring the Asia Cup 2025 Final Trophy dispute to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The final ceremony of the continental tournament was confronted on Sunday with a delay in Dubai After the Indian team refused to collect the winner of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi.
Allegedly the move came to the guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI); Naqvi – who is also chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) -, however, remained that he would present the trophy as ACC president.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has now confirmed the same as Indian media.
“We have decided not to take the trophy from the ACC chairman, who happens to be one of Pakistan’s most important leaders,” said Indian Media Saikia.
The dispute resulted in a brief delay in the presentation ceremony, in which Pakistan players gathered their medals second.
Presenter Simon D down confirmed the conclusion of the ceremony after the game without the winning team received the trophy.
“I was informed by the ACC that the Indian Cricket team will not collect any prizes tonight. So that concludes the presentation after the competition,” Doull inquired.
India players Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, however, showed up to accept their individual prizes.
The organizers then took the Asia Cup trophy, so that the Indian team waited to get hold of the title trophy.
Naqvi’s insisting on presenting the trophy to the winning team came despite the recent acts of the Indian team to drag politically to the game, whereby the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav refused a usual handshake with Salman Ali Agha from Pakistan in their group stage.
He repeated the same in their next two competitions, an act convicted by experts around the world.
The BCCI secretary has now confirmed his plans to file a complaint against Naqvi about the trophy row in the next meeting of the ICC, planned in November.
The BCCI secretary spoke in the same rules as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who equated the cricket victory to “Operation Sindoor”, the name given to the Indian series of strikes in Pakistan, which resulted in the martyrdom of different citizens.
“#Operationsindoor on the field games. The outcome is the same – India wins! Congratulations on our cricketers,” Modi wrote in a message on X after the Asia Cup final.
Incorrect about bringing politics and war in sport, Saikia said that the Indian “forces delivered in the border area. Now the same has been repeated in Dubai”.
