Isla Fisher shares an update on her life months after her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.
Fisher, who is not shy about her age, said her 50th birthday, along with being single, was liberating.
After the end of her 13-year marriage, Fisher says it feels “so cool” to be single after a divorce.
“I’m so great,” Fisher said People on March 10 during the TIME Women Of The Year Gala.
During the conversation, Fisher also talked about getting older, noting, “I was turning 50. I was so nervous about that…”
“But,” she added, “it felt so liberating. I feel so liberated.’
And in addition, she admitted, being single also contributed to her freedom.
Fisher further noted, “There is [also] something about being separated, where you feel like you can just do anything.”
“You could just be doing anything, and someone would say, ‘Oh, don’t worry. She’s divorced.’ It’s so cool.’ “
In April 2024, Fisher and Cohen announced that they had filed for divorce in 2023, ending their nearly two-decade relationship.
“After a long tennis match of more than twenty years, we are finally putting down our rackets,” the couple said in a statement at the time.
They finalized their divorce in June 2025. Fisher and Cohen announced, “Our divorce is now finalized. We are proud of everything we have accomplished together and, while continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and are committed to co-parenting our wonderful children. We ask the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”
