The cause of death of Jackson Browne’s son Ethan Browne has been revealed.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the actor died from the “effects of fentanyl, methamphetamine and lidocaine.”

Jackson confirmed the death of his eldest child on November 26 by sharing an emotional statement on social media.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unconscious in his home on the morning of November 25, 2025 and passed away,” the 77-year-old singer and political activist wrote on Facebook at the time.
“We ask for privacy and respect for the family at this difficult time. No further details are available at this time,” he added.
