James McAvoy gets candid about Hollywood fears of aging and why he is not losing sleep

James McAvoy’s blunt take on cosmetic surgeries to look younger in Hollywood: ‘They look weirder’

James McAvoy, the star face of several franchises, isn’t worried about getting wrinkles as he reflects on Hollywood’s fears about aging.

As for the looks, the X-Men star shares that he doesn’t lose sleep over it because “he’s doing well.”

“Relatively not,” the actor tells the host of The Romesh Ranganathan Show when asked about views on aging.

“I just think in a normal way, like everyone else does. As an actor, I think I’m doing well. I don’t think I look bad.”

Appearances, McAvoy shares, are not the criteria for getting the roles. “I don’t think I get roles because, ‘Oh, he looks good.'”

Therefore, growing old is a phase of life in which he allows him to grow a little. “So getting a little older and all that, and going bald in the back a little bit and all that, it kind of feels like I’m allowed to do that.”

But not everyone lets aging take its course and opts for cosmetic solutions.

In response, McAvoy says that pursuing a younger look through artificial means can be counterproductive.

“There are a lot of people who look a little weird. And that’s the point. It’s like you don’t look younger. You just look weirder.”

McAvoy’s comments highlight the actor’s approach to cementing his craft on tight skin in the industry.
