James McAvoy secretly welcomed his second child years ago.
In a recent conversation with People, the 46-year-old actor talked about becoming a father again at 40 and how it’s been different from becoming a father at 30.
It is pertinent to mention that the ‘Atonement’ actor welcomed his second son, first with his wife Lisa Liberati. Their son is now four.
Expressing his thoughts on welcoming children in your 40s, James said: “Having a child at 42 is definitely easier in some ways.”
The Split actor explained, “I worry less. I’m a little more philosophical.”
However, there’s still one thing that makes the journey of fatherhood later in life difficult: getting older, James admitted.
Recognizing that as you get older, becoming a father “becomes more difficult because you’re just older and more tired.”
James is also father to 15-year-old son Brendon, whom he welcomed with his ex-wife Anne-Marie Duff.
In February 2022, James told the newspaper that he had married Lisa in a private ceremony.
The couple first met on the set of the horror film ‘Split’ when Lisa was working as the personal assistant to the film’s director, M. Night Shyamalan.
James has kept his life private since his split from Duff, as he revealed in a previous conversation with Mr Potter in 2017, noting: “One of the things that has stayed the same is that I still don’t actually talk about my personal life.”
