Jimmy Fallon loses beloved family member: ‘Our first baby’

Jimmy Fallon mourns the death of his beloved family member, dog Gary.

In an Instagram post on Monday, October 20 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon The host wrote an emotional message for the furry friend, the last name the heartbroken pet owners signed on each birthday card.

“She was our first baby, a therapist, a pillow, a big sister, a school teacher, a comedian, a party girl and a rebel,” he wrote alongside a carousel of photos of the late companion. ‘Certainly not a watchdog. She would have let burglars in and shown where we kept the bacon and slices of American cheese.”

The American comedian and television host continued, writing: “Franny, Winnie, Mom and I miss you. The house misses you.’

“The house is so quiet. The silence is so loud. But that silence is slowly filled with stories about you and laughter among the sniffles,” he concluded the heartfelt tribute. ‘Thank you for everything. Gosh, we miss you so much. Goodnight, Gary.”

The 51-year-old shared a sweet memory of his 13-and-a-half-year-old dog, recalling how she would jump straight into the pool straight after bathing, swim a few laps and then roll around in the grass, kick her legs and stick out her tongue.

The series of photos captured Gary over the years, including one with Fallon and another with his wife and the couple’s daughters.

Fallon shares two daughters Frannie, 10, and Winny, 12, with wife Nancy Juvonen, 58.
