John Stamos can’t bear to see his previous one Full house costar Lori Loughlin is going through such a difficult time in her life.
During a performance at the Good guys podcast with Josh Peck and Ben Soffer on Monday, Oct. 20, the 62-year-old actor opened up about his longtime friend’s recent split from Mossimo Giannulli — announced earlier this month — calling the fashion designer a “terrible narcissist” and a “scumbag.”
Stamos admitted he was “heartbroken” for Loughlin, 61, after her 28-year marriage ended, saying she was “just devastated.”
“For a girl who has lived her life very well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife – I know all that – to now get into this divorce and, you know, explode and blow up her family like this,” he said. “I hate to see her go through this. I really do.”
The General Hospital alum also reflected on Loughlin’s legal troubles in 2020, when she and Giannulli pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella, into USC.
“She’s going to jail for three months for this son of a bitch,” Stamos said, adding that he has tried to support her since then and even gave her a reality check once.
“I said, ‘Look, all the negativity and hardship you’ve experienced in your life has to do with this man,'” he recalled. “Whatever he did to her, it broke her to her core. She has had to put up with a lot from this man over the years.”
As for his own position on Giannulli? “I will never talk to him again,” Stamos declared, adding, “I pray he realizes that what he had was all anyone could ever hope for – and that he gets some help.”
