Johnny Depp is confronted with a recoil in his quiet village of East Sussex after his rescue dog, a Bullmastiff called Bourbon, attacked two sheep and killed during a walk.
According to reports, the incident happened when one of the staff members of Depp Bourbon ran and the dog broke loose, came across a nearby field and flooded the farmers.
Depp, 62, was not at home then.
Farmer Joe Ginger, whose sheep were killed, expressed his anger, telling Sun“I take my work and my sheep very seriously, it’s my business. It’s a serious matter.”
Another local farmer noted that the animals would each have been worth around £ 180 and said that such attacks take place more often than many realize.
“Dog owners should be more aware,” the farmer added, which suggests that Depp should compensate for the losses.
A source close to the actor said that Depp was “really upset” when he heard what happened.
“This is not the kind of things he wanted to happen in his back garden,” the insider explained, adding that a professional trainer has since been hired to ensure that such an incident no longer occurs.
The Hollywood star, who moved to the building of the countryside near where his deceased friend Jeff Beck lived, is usually described by Buren as private and respectful for the local community.
A resident said: “He is sometimes seen in the village and is very much left to himself. But it is very bad news for the poor sheep and the farmer.”
This is not the first time that Depp’s pets have caused the headlines.
In 2015, his Yorkshire Terriers, Boo and Pistol, were famous from Australia after they were brought into the country without the correct permission, in which civil servants threatened euthanasia if they were not removed within 72 hours.
The actor, a father of two, has held a low profile since he withdrew from Hollywood after his legal fighting with ex-wife Amber heard.
Although his career delayed in the aftermath, he has appeared in international films and, according to sources in the industry, is now prepared to recover in Los Angeles.
