JoJo Siwa shared a surprising way that strengthened her bond with her father, Tom Siwa
In a recent conversation with People, the 22-year-old dance professional reflected on her relationship with her celebrity father.
“It’s interesting. I feel like people often expect child stars and their parents to fall out over time, [but] My parents and I have only become closer,” she said during The Snappys, Snapchat’s creator awards show, in California.
She then revealed, “I recently started playing golf, which has made me really close to my dad.”
“I had a lot of fun playing golf with him and it was very special because my mother and I are obviously so close,” she says. ‘You know, she, she’s my other half… I shouldn’t say she’s my other half because technically she is [my boyfriend] Chris [Hughes] would be my other half, but my mother is my right hand through everything in my life. And now it’s wonderful to play golf with my father.”
JoJo also opened up about her relationship with boyfriend Chris Hughes, as the pair have been dating for almost a year.
“It’s been the best year ever. And it’s only going to get better from here. It’s only going to go up from here. But it’s so wild to think it’s already been a year,” she recalls.
“We don’t have any plans yet,” JoJo said about celebrating their anniversary. “Of course we will celebrate somehow. Hopefully we can be together.”
