Judi Dench makes shocking statement about her health

Sad statement by Judi Dench: ‘I can no longer see’

Dame Judi Dench, a well-known actress, had been suffering from eye problems for quite some time. Now it had reached a point where ‘she can’t see anymore’.

“I can no longer see and can no longer watch television or read. You can no longer [see me on camera anymore] because I can’t see,” she says ITV. “I have, you know, that thing.”

In 2012, the James Bond star announced her macular degeneration diagnosis. She told me Daily mirror at the time. “I can’t read scripts anymore. Someone comes and reads them, like they’re telling me a story. Usually it’s my daughter or my agent or a friend.”

“And I actually like that, because I sit there and imagine the story in my head. I have what my mother had: macular degeneration, which you get when you get old.”

Cleveland Clinic describes that those who have this problem “cannot see things immediately in front of them.”

Vision Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping people suffering from sight loss, helped the British star.

“You find a way to just get by and get over the things that are really difficult for you,” she previously revealed.

“I’ve had to find another way to learn lines and things like that, which is to have good friends of mine repeat them to me over and over again.”

“So I have to learn through repetition, and I just hope that people won’t notice too much if all the rules are completely hopeless,” she noted.

It’s worth noting that Judi turns 91 on December 9.
