Justin Bieber became famous with his song Baby. The song, released in 2010, made the Canadian singer a sensation among the public.
Now, more than a decade later, the song is back on the rankings, but Bieber may not like the new position.
In a list compiled by TheTopTens, Baby is ranked as the worst song of the 21st century.
While the song has a loyal fanbase, there are also many who dislike it due to its repetitive structure and high-pitched vocals, making it one of the most hated music videos on YouTube.
Bieber, similar to the social media comments, said Baby – initially – wasn’t his favorite song.
In a previous interview with Amazon Music, the musician said, “I remember hearing the song at first and not being – you know, I don’t know if I should say this, but I’ll just say it – not being super in love with the song.”
However, his views changed when Scooter Braun, his manager at the time, convinced him to listen to the song after adding his vocals.
“When I got my vote on it, I immediately thought, ‘This is such a special record.'”
Despite the negative response, Baby has amassed 3.9 million digital downloads and 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
