Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship is no longer just speculation.
Days after the pop star and the former Canadian prime minister were spotted holding hands in Paris, a political source confirmed People magazine that the pair are officially a couple.
“This relationship is already quite serious and is definitely heading in that direction,” the source said, adding: “They are a real couple and have seen each other as often as possible.”
The romance reportedly began to blossom during Perry’s Lifetimes World Tour, which continues through December.
Rumors first started circulating in July when the two were having dinner together in Montreal. Their bond seemed to deepen in early October, when they were photographed kissing aboard a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara.
Most recently, Trudeau celebrated Perry’s 41st birthday with her in Paris on October 25. The pair were seen holding hands and smiling as they attended a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris.
A source close to Perry told the outlet that Trudeau has “really made an effort to meet her where she is – literally,” as the singer remains focused on her tour. “He has shown that he is committed and really cares about spending time with her,” the insider added. “It’s clear he appreciates the connection, and so does Katy.”
Another source described the relationship as a happy surprise for the pop star: “Dating Justin is something she never saw coming, but she’s really enjoying this surprising life turn. Katy didn’t expect to fall for someone so quickly, but Justin checks all the boxes: he’s charming, funny and treats her with respect.”
