After weeks of speculation, Kanye West’s concert, set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, has been officially postponed.
According to The citizenhis manager, Peter Jideonwo, confirmed the status of the show in a statement, saying: “Yeezy LLC confirms that Ye’s performance in Johannesburg will be expanded to a larger Yeezy-led production in South Africa.”
It is unclear exactly when the show will take place, his statement continued: “To support larger production and broadcast plans, the performance previously scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025 will not take place on that date and will be rescheduled to a new date.”
“Ye and the Yeezy team remain committed and excited to perform in South Africa and on the continent, and to share the Johannesburg homecoming live and via broadcast with fans around the world. A new date will be announced in the coming days through Ye’s verified channels and Yeezy LLC,” the release said.
The update follows the cancellation of Ye’s recent show in Brazil. It would take place in São Paulo.
But the Interlagos race track, where it was due to happen, canceled the agreement in October. Moreover, the city’s mayor also expressed his disapproval of hosting Ye, citing his past controversies.
These accidents prompted organizers to issue a statement saying: “It is with great regret that we announce that the concert of artist Kanye West (YE), scheduled for November 29, 2025 in São Paulo, will not take place,” organizers said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, the permission to use the Interlagos circuit has been unilaterally withdrawn by the public administration, which completely escapes our performance sphere.”
The statement added that despite their efforts to meet the producer’s extensive requirements and high production costs, conditions made it impossible to organize the event.
“In addition to the termination of the fencing contract, it became clear in recent weeks that the environment and political will would not allow the spectacle to take place in this municipality, leaving us with no other alternative,” the statement concluded.
