However, this is not well received by the Jewish Leadership Council.
The group condemns the move despite Ye apologizing for his past anti-Semitic rhetoric.
“It is deeply irresponsible for Wireless Festival to be headlined by Kanye West. The Jewish community in Britain is facing record levels of anti-Semitism, including a terrorist attack in Manchester, the attack on ambulances in Golders Green and foiled plots that would have cost the lives of many more people,” the spokesperson said.
“West has repeatedly used his platform to spread anti-Semitism and pro-Nazi messages. His most recent apology should be seen in the context that he started selling swastika T-shirts and released a song called Heil Hitler after previously apologizing.”
“Any venue or festival should reconsider before offering Kanye West a platform to spread his anti-Semitism,” the statement concluded.
