Karla Sofía Gascón revealed why she couldn’t attend Selena Gomez’s wedding to music producer Benny Blanco earlier this year.
The 53-year-old actress, who has been busy with work commitments, said it was her schedule that made it impossible to attend the star-studded event.
Speaking at the Los40 music awards In Valencia, Spain, Gascón explained that she often misses family weddings due to professional commitments.
“I’m at work. Imagine, I don’t even go to my family. Because there’s a lot of money to spend. Imagine if I had to pay with Selena. No, no. I’d be ruined!” she said laughing during the interview.
Gomez and Blanco exchanged vows near Santa Barbara in late September Emilia Perez co-stars Zoe Saldana and Édgar Ramírez in attendance.
Gascón’s absence was so apparent that fans made assumptions, especially considering her close relationship with the cast.
