The marriage of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban seem to have reached a breaking point, with several insiders claiming that tension between the couple grew when Kidman promoted her provocative film Baby girl.
Earlier this week, Kidman presented a divorce, while Urban was noticed in Hershey, Pennsylvania, without his wedding ring, indicating that the split was already moving.
According to sources, Urban was never familiar with the involvement of Kidman in the film, with her as a powerful CEO who starts an affair with her young intern, played by Harris Dickinson, while he is stuck in an unsatisfactory marriage with Antonio Banderas.
“Keith did not like the film and he didn’t even like Nicole who promoted the film,” revealed a Hollywood insider.
Another source suggested that the country star feared to be mocked because of the storyline.
Signs of discomfort were populated publicly last summer.
Urban was noticeably absent in Kidman’s side at the Venice Film Festival in August, where the film premiered the following month and again at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Then, in July, his frustration seemed to spill during an Australian Radio interview. When asked about the love scenes on the Kidman screen with younger men, Urban abruptly left the call.
“I think his team hired us because they did not want us to ask that question,” said the show producer of the show at the time, while co-gastheer Hayley Pearson noted that it looked like “Van Streek” by asking something too personal.
Despite speculation, a source told later PEOPLE That Urban had not deliberately left the interview.
Nevertheless, the incident fought rumors that his discomfort grew with Kidman’s projects, a shift that surprised many because he had never shown an audience objection to her work.
Now, with the separation of separation and the missing wedding ring of Urban, the speculation has become reality.
