Kelly Clarkson is reportedly “heartbroken” for her children, who celebrated their first December holiday in the absence of their late father, Brandon Blackstock.
According to a recent report from PeopleThe singer and songwriter’s main focus this Christmas was her children and she was completely “present” with them as losing their father was “incredibly painful and confusing” for her children, Remington, 9, and River, 11.
For those unfamiliar, Brandon passed away in August at the age of 48 after a battle with cancer.
“Kelly is clearly heartbroken for her children. Losing their father is incredibly painful and confusing,” a source told the outlet.
“But she is also very down to earth. She is not someone who falls apart. She looks at life realistically and does everything she can to make things as stable and loving as possible for her children.”

“She’s a great mother,” chirped the bird.
On August 7, a representative of the family announced the news of Brandon’s death in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.”
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
