Kim Novak Criticizes Sydney Sweeney ‘Disgraceful!’ role: ‘Completely wrong’

Sydney Sweeney has remained the center of many controversies, the most recent being her ad for American Eagle. Now Kim Novak has to present her opinion as the most important. Euphoria star will play the lead role in the film, Scandalous!

Novak has expressed concerns about the upcoming romantic drama that will chronicle the 1957 affair between her and musician Sammy Davis Jr., who would be played by English actor David Jonsson.

In an interview with The Times of London, the actress criticized the casting of Sydney Sweeney as her role in the film, which Colman Domingo will direct.

“I would never have approved of it,” Novak said of The Housemaid star who played her, adding that she is “so far above the waist.”

The publication discussed that the 93-year-old’s concerns may have stemmed from the fact that the film would focus on the sexual side of their relationship rather than the fact that they “had so much in common”.

“There is no sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney always looks sexy,” Novak continued. “It was totally wrong to play me.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, Sweeney was asked if she had met Novak, but she did not give a straight answer.

“Colman (Domingo, director) and she have a really beautiful relationship,” she said at the time, adding, “They talked. We connected them, so it was really cool.”

Scandalous! The plot is set in the 1950s, when interracial marriages were banned in many American states. The film, produced by Sweeney, explores their romance amid the racist criticism they faced.
