Kimora Lee Simmons opens up about the hidden struggle of being a mother of five.
In a recent conversation with Peoplethe 50-year-old model opened up about her chaotic life with her five children, Wolfe Lee, 10, Gary Lee, 16, Kenzo Lee, 16, Aoki Lee, 23, and Ming Lee, 25, plus “bonus son” Jayden, 19.
“I don’t sleep much,” Simmons told the outlet. “I know that’s bad.”
Simmons, who stars in her new reality show Kimora: Back in the Fab Lanecontinued saying, “I’m always taking the kids’ orders, taking them to date nights, arranging cars. My oldest child is 25, and if you look at Miss Ming Lee’s Instagram, you just know that in the middle of the night, I’m the mom on the other end of the line making sure everything is okay.”
“Part of my exhaustion is dealing with the kids,” she admitted.
Because she has children of different ages, Simmons noted, she has to “wear a lot of different hats.”
“It’s not like one hat goes away or anything like that,” she continued. “It’s like all the different versions at different times, and you have to juggle. It’s a balancing act.”
Simmons added that she “doesn’t really have a relationship” with her children’s fathers.
“Usually I would say I co-parent, okay, but the kids are with me full-time. I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s hard, but I don’t know what other people are thinking sometimes. Boys are weird.”
It is pertinent to mention that Simmons shares Ming and Aoki with her ex-husband, Russell Simmons; Wolfe with former investment banker Tim Leissner, Kenzo with actor Djimon Hounsou and adopted Gary from Jamaica in 2020
