Kylie Minogue played a clever April Fools prank on her fans.

The pop icon revealed she created an entire fake EP, complete with album art and tracklist, convincing followers that new music had just been released.

The idea was inspired by Will Ferrell’s 2019 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he jokingly listed non-existent Kylie songs while in character.

Kylie revealed via a video on Instagram that she and her team began subtly teasing the fake project, sharing a blurry cover before unveiling the so-called EP titled Hot Air Balloon for Two.

Many fans rushed to stream or purchase the release, but were instead directed to one of her classic hits.

In the social media caption, Kylie Minogue wrote: “Alright loved ones, I owe you one for that April Fool’s Day fun.”

“High five @teamkylie And shoutout to Ron & @jimmyfallon for all the lolz,” the singer added.

She commented, “BUT WAIT…why were y’all READY for this anyway?! The energy??? The dedication???”

“I’m impressed that I really love you,” Kylie concluded.
