After 18 years, Lebron James’ historic double-digit streak has finally come to an end.
The NBA legend has scored 10 or more points in all 1,297 consecutive NBA games since 2007. The journey of a double-digit streak began during his fourth NBA session in 2007. The streak lasted just 18 years, 19 sessions and 6,907 days.
The 40-year-old basketball player did his utmost to maintain his iconic streak. Unfortunately, James attempted 17 shots during Thursday’s game. Of those shots, only four were successful, while he missed all five of his three-point attempts.
As the match neared its climax, James made a pass to Rui Hachimura, who managed to score three-pointers as time expired.
During a post-match interview, James said: “Just play the game the right way. You always play the right play. That’s just been my MO. That’s how I learned the game. I’ve done that my whole career.”
Lakers coach JJ Redick also noted, “LeBron is well aware of how many points he has at that moment. He did it like he has done so many times before.”
In the nerve-wracking match, the Lakers prevailed over the Toronto Raptors by scoring 123-120.
