Kate Cassidy believes she will never be able to part with Liam Payne’s memories, but a year after his death she has changed the way she views the loss.

The 26-year-old influencer opened up about her struggle with deep depression in a recent interview, which left her “not really wanting to live my life.”

Looking back on the past year, Cassidy said: “I always just did nothing and was only concerned with the sadness and the pain,” in conversation with Page six.

Finally, after “about two months,” she continued, “I finally realized, ‘Okay, just like I have to live my life, I have to get up and get out of bed.’”

The model then started actively trying to push herself, waking up early, exercising and eating clean.

Cassidy noted that she had to ‘accept’ the One Direction alum’s death and work [her] a way through this.”

Speaking about her daily routine, Cassidy shared, “I like to always get up early, have an exercise class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.”

Payne and Cassidy were planning their lives together when the singer died in an accidental fall from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
