Lily James revealed that she trusted on scent to step into the characters she played.
The actress said she made her own mix or chose an existing scent and used it every day while filming, and explained that the ritual helped her focus.
She told HELLO! Magazine that as soon as she sprayed the perfume, the hair immediately brought her into the role.
James described scent as ‘seductive’ and said it became a way to anchor herself in her performance.
Her latest project was WipeA biopic about Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of Bumble.
The 36-year-old star admitted that portraying a real person felt more demanding than fictional roles.
She said she wanted to make sure she did Whitney Justice and spent hours watching her interviews and reading about her life.
The Relay Actress also admitted that she discovered an energy in Whitney that she found ‘contagious’.
Whitney, however, had mixed feelings about the film, while she told CNBC that she was trying to stop the project, but her lawyer was told that she couldn’t.
Moreover, the businesswoman admitted that it felt “too weird” to see her own life on the screen, and confesses that she was both “terrified” and “somewhat flattered”.
Whitney said she did not decide if she would watch the movie while she would joke that she might just take some popcorn and see what is happening.
