Lisa Kudrow and RuPaul passionately supported Michael Patrick King at the 2026 Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Dinner, held at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
The two stars helped honor the writer/director with the Visibility Award at the annual event and even captured a beautiful photo of Michael sitting between the two.
Michael was the one who created Lisa’s show The comeback and RuPaul’s series AJ and the Queen.
Was also present Sex and the city And And just like that… star Kristin Davis, who also worked with Michael on both shows.
On stage, as he accepted the well-deserved award, Michael said: “So we need to push back on the lies about us, about people who are different, and put forward powerful stories about people who dare to be themselves, stories about characters who risk being individual in society.”
“In living rooms across this country, people who don’t know a queer person or don’t think they do, watch TV and occasionally look at an LGBTQ+ character. Sometimes something that happens on a television, a certain story, a great character, a joke or a revealed heart can topple the scaffold that society has forced us to build around ourselves and reveal the soul beneath it,” he added.
Michael continued: “And as this happens, people in their homes, sitting on their couches, can see us and get to know us. And little by little, we are no longer ‘them’.”
During dinner, except the Friends star, RuPaul and Michael, there were many other A-list guests who attended the event.
Malin Akerman and husband Jack Donnelly, Erika Jayne, Marcia Gay Harden, filmmaker Paul Feig, The residentMatt Czuchry and Alimi Ballard, Melissa Peterman, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and more were at the dinner.
In addition, Niecy Nash served as honorary dinner chair and was accompanied by her wife Jessica Betts.
