Lucy Mecklenburgh shares a positive health update after her endometriosis surgery.
The former TOWIE The star took to her Instagram account on Wednesday, two weeks after her laparoscopy, and spoke about the ‘incredible’ results of her surgery, revealing that she is doing ‘absolutely well’.
“So as far as the endo recovery goes, honestly it’s been five days and I know everyone is different, but this is my experience,” she began. “For the first five days I took it very easy, sat up straight and felt like my core strength would eventually come back, but I wasn’t in much pain. I just felt a bit vulnerable and sensitive.”
The 34-year-old TV personality went on to say: “After about twelve days I started exercising again, walking, feeling a little more normal around the house. For a week I was actually more normal and now I just feel completely fine.”
While showing off her toned stomach, she noted, “The scars are almost invisible already, my core strength feels like it’s coming back. I took it easy when I did a workout recently, but actually I felt fine, I didn’t feel any pain.”
“It’s too early to say if it has improved my symptoms,” Lucy said.
The model further explained her condition: “A few people have asked me for an update on my recovery for endo, physically it’s incredible. The largest incision was here [pointing to belly button]I still have a little scab, but there is no scar.”
‘And this is what is insane, this is what remains [pointing to a tiny scar on her hip]That’s just incredible in literally two weeks,” Lucy added.
According to Mayo Clinic, “Endometriosis is an often painful condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It often affects the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the tissue lining the pelvis.” It can cause pain during menstruation and fertility problems.
