Pretoria: Captain Aiden Markram, South Africa, said on Monday that they expect to experience ‘a lot of spider’ in Pakistan in their upcoming two games.
South Africa has practiced on specially prepared Wickets in the High Performance Center of Pretoria prior to the series.
“A few nets are prepared where the spider is really exaggerated, and you would rather be mistaken on that side, and maybe it is a bit easier when we arrive Pakistan,” Markram told a press conference.
“We expect to make a lot of twist there, and of course it is also a lot lower from a seam point. There is a lot of skiddy, so it is difficult to pursue that here in South Africa, but we have emphasized a way to find a way to train for that.”
Prior to their first match against Pakistan, from Sunday, Markram said that his side can expect to have a target on their backs when they start with a new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) as defensive champions.
After the Pakistan tests, South African plays two games in India in November, because they offer to retain the trophy they won in June through Beat Australia with five wickets at Lord’s.
The WTC is decided at the end of a two -year cycle, with the top two teams that compete in a one -off five -day competition.
“I suppose you make a bit of a target on your back if you have won (the WTC), and if that is the case, it is fair. We want to chase a place in the final and re -lift that trophy, but you realize that every team comes for us,” said Markram, who is in a skipper for a Kalftrin.
“As a team, we must get better and improve and play well in all different types of circumstances. It starts for us in Pakistan, and it is a challenge that the boys are ready for,” he added.
The first test against Pakistan is in Lahore and the second starts on October 20 in Rawalpindi.
