Mathew Lillard has focused on the DC universe and hopes that his old friend James Gunn could bring him to the superhero world.
During a panel in Los Angeles Comic-Con, the actor opened his interest in becoming a member of a DC project now that Gunn is co-head of DC Studios.
The two previously worked together on the live promotion Scooby-Doo Films, where Gunn served as a screenwriter and Lillard played the beloved Shaggy.
“It’s a long time ago. I wanted to be in a superhero world,” Lillard told fans.
‘I wanted to be inside [the DCU]If someone is curious. If you come across James Gunn, tell him that I am available. ‘
Thinking about his earlier collaboration with Gunn, Lillard spoke with great pleasure about their friendship and admitted that he is still waiting for a phone call.
‘[He’s] One of my dear friends, “the actor shared.” I keep waiting for that invitation. I don’t know if it was lost in the post. “
For his part, Gunn has already spoken about his vision of the DC universe, and emphasizes that Casting will include a mix of new talent and well -known employees.
“We have hundreds of roles to cast,” Gunn wrote on X.
“As I have always done, some will be brand new faces, some will be actors that I have previously worked with, and some will be actors you know with whom I have never worked before. What is the most important thing is that the actor fits in with the role and they are easy to work with.”
Although fans have to wait and see if Lillard joins the Justice League or another DC project, the actor will remain busy.
He is already in line to appear in the second season of Daredevil: Born Againwho premiered in March 2026 on Disney+.
For the time being Lillard seems more than ready to his Mystery Inc. -Roots can be exchanged for a chance of the superhero Spotlightm if Gunn gives him the chance.
