Matthew McConaughey shares a hilarious incident that happened at his 35th birthday party when he got so high he missed it.
“I think it was my 35th birthday,” he recalled while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “And this was right around the time when the old Mexican dirty weed, where you just pulled a hit on a joint, laughed, giggled, had a hit and then maybe hooked up with someone, turned into a little bit more, ‘Oh!’ A little hydroponics. A little stronger.”
He continues, “I’m taking a toke and driving myself to my birthday. I made it to my birthday. I pulled up to the front. I didn’t get out of the truck.”
“Why exactly? “Because I decided that what was more important than going into my birthday was to sit in my truck and listen to Janet Jackson’s ‘That’s the Way Love Goes’ 34 times in a row,” he said as Jimmy Kimmel laughed quietly next to him. “And cry. And I think it is the most beautiful, wonderful song.”
“And I missed my birthday! I finally went inside and they were all gone!” Matthew said as everyone laughed.
